Pre-K Daily Art Challenges

Pre-K Daily Art Challenges

Keep your drawings and activities in a sketchbook, take photos or videos, and post them to your Artsonia account.  Let’s keep art alive while you’re away from our studio.

For Pre-K students, Art activities are an optional addition to create a well-rounded curriculum, however they are not required during distance learning.  However, if you choose to do them with your child please upload their work to Artsonia, I love seeing what they are creating at home.

#8 Create a Found Object Color Wheel Inspired by Artist Caroline South.

Caroline South has challenged herself to organize found objects in interest ways inspired by color and value.

https://theultralinx.com/2017/10/this-artist-arranges-everyday-objects-in-the-most-satisfying-ways/

Color- the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and brightness of the reflected light; saturation or chroma; hue.

Value- the relative lightness or darkness of a color. It is an important tool for the designer/artist, in the way that it defines form and creates spatial illusions. Contrast of value separates objects in space, while gradation of value suggests mass and contour of a contiguous surface.

#9 Love art but can’t afford the original?  Make your own!  Recreate your favorite painting or sculpture by dressing up with things you have in your house.

These are so fun and creative.  Check it out!

#8 Field Day is coming up, why not combine Field Day and Art?!  If you choose the “Paper Plane Corn Hole” activity for Field Day you will need to create and decorate 3 paper airplanes to use for your game. Design your paper, fold your planes, add any additional decorations, photograph them, and use them for Field Day.

Make 1 or more than 1 to spread the love.
