Homework

We will have homework on a daily basis, Monday through Thursday.  There will be no homework on Fridays.  The weekends should be free for you and your children to enjoy. 

Homework assignments are based on the curriculum.  Language Arts assignments will be based on the letter/sound association, word study, sight words and other reading readiness skills.  Math assignments will be based on the current unit we are studying. 

All homework is designed to enhance the curriculum.  Whatever your child is learning in school is reinforced by the homework for the week.  Homework is never sent just to make work for the students to do. 

A weekly schedule will go home in your child’s folder every Monday attached to the homework that is to be completed.  Please return the homework in your child’s folder on Friday morning. 

In addition to the written homework, I encourage you to read with your child.  Reading is so important to your child’s educational success.
