Like in past years, we will be back to experimenting, playing, and mastering new materials like paint, oil pastels, chalk, printing ink, glue, and more! However, the best (and maybe worst depending on who you ask) part of all that is the wonderful mess that can sometimes happen when creativity strikes. For this reason, I ask that ALL students bring a smock in a GALLON-sized Ziplock bag with their name on it. This does not have to be anything fancy (though feel free to decorate it, it is Art after all), a simple apron or old t-shirt works great and keeps those new school clothes safe.

Notes From the ART ROOM

~As students begin making their artwork I would like to invite you to view your child/children’s work online through the use of the Artsonia.com website. Through Artsonia you can view pictures I upload as well as upload your own to build an online portfolio for each budding artist.

IMPORTANT: In the past, I was able to grant permission for your child’s artwork to be published through a written permission slip from you, HOWEVER, new technology guidelines require the PARENTS/GUARDIANS to create and online account and give permission online before I can upload any artwork. If you are new to Artsonia and wish to participate please create an account for your child as soon as possible using the information that was stapled to the "Beginning of the Year" letter that went home in your child's folder, if your child already has an account with me, please make sure you have activated it so you can see when an artwork is published. If you need the information to activate your existing account please email me and I will get it to ASAP.
