We are getting closer to spring and with the warmer weather popping in, there are definitely signs of "spring fever." Although we have no days off this month there are many activities going on. "Read Across America" begins this week. Please continue to have your child to read at lest ten minutes each night. This will help increase their fluency and imrpove their comprehension. We will also have the rescheduled trip to the Bordentown Library on Thursday, March 9 and another field trip to the Acedemy of Natural Science on March 23. Last but least, our chorus concert on March 14.
In Reading, we finishing up on our unit on Non-fiction with biographies. The students are really enjoying reading about famous women in history. In writing, we are beginning a great unit, "Writing Like a Scientist" We will conduct experiments and learn about the Scientific Method. This is always a fun way for students to explore new writing techniques.
We are finishing up unit 6 in Math and concentrating more on double digit addition. Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts at home to keep them fresh.
It is important that you check your childs Red Folders each night for important information and homework assignments.
