Book Fish

Reading every night is ESSENTIAL in 1st grade.  It is important that your child is engaged in reading for at least 15 minutes each night.  In order to help encourage this behavior, our class is going to begin the Book Fish Reading Program.  Your child will be allowed to fill out a book fish each time they read a book.  If your child reads chapter books, then they may fill out a book fish each time they read a book.  The book fish must be filled out completely with the title of the book, the author, the date, read and a parent signature.  Students will then be allowed to bring in the book fish and add it to our classroom treasure chest.  So, the more the students read, the better chance they have of getting their fish pulled out on Friday. 

Please be sure to have your child fill out all of the information and cut out the fish before returning it to school.  Blank fish will always be available in our classroom for your child.
